The Challenge
Goondiwinid Regional Council required an all-weather hardstand for the increasing amount of recoverable resources being stockpiled at the Goondiwindi Waste Facility.

The area was previously natural black soil and not trafficable during periods of wet weather.
The Solution
Proterra Group designed and constructed an all-weather hardstand which enabled an expansion of the resource recovery area. The hardstand was constructed using waste concrete received at the facility and the gravel was reclaimed from a nearby road rehabilitation project.

The concrete was crushed on-site as part of the project. All works were completed by local contractors based in the Goondiwindi Region.

The Benefit
This project represented a cost-effective solution to build the hardstand through the use of 100 per cent recycled materials. By making use of the available materials, the client saved on costly quarrying and transport costs. This emphasises Proterra's commitment to developing fit-for-purpose engineering solutions.
The Result
The hardstand now provides Council and the users of the waste facility with an increased area available for the unloading and stockpiling of recoverable materials including greenwaste, concrete and scrap metal.
