The Benefit
Somerset Regional Council had previously used CCTV camera inspections in their region but were looking for a more budget-friendly option for their stormwater network inspections moving forward. Proterra Group provided an option for the utilisation of a zoom pole camera for inspections paired with RTK survey for spatial data - which Council ultimately selected. This methodology allowed Proterra Group to give Council up-to-date spatial and condition data in less time and at a lower cost than their previous CCTV contract.
The Result
Council received up-to-date spatial and condition data (including photos of all surface assets and videos of pipes) for their stormwater network within the Kilocy, Lowood and Fernvale regions. Proterra Group were engaged by Council for individual three contracts (and three townships). This multi-contract deal gave Proterra Group the chance to gain a better understanding of Council’s requirements and to work more closely with them to improve their asset management procedures.
