The Challenge
In Dirranbandi Queensland, the Balonne Shire Council wished to improve their stormwater system of the town. Currently, during substantial rain, parts of the town flood due to the overflow of the current stormwater detention basin. The Council required a design for a new pump station but did not have the resources to carry out the work required.
The Solution
The installation of the new pump station and associated pipework will ensure that when there is substantial rain in the town, Dirranbandi’s current stormwater detention basin will not overflow and cause any flooding across the roadway and into neighbouring properties.

This will eliminate any damage which is caused by this flooding.

The Benefit
The upgrade to the Dirranbandi’s stormwater system will ensure that when there is substantial rain in the town, the local stormwater lagoon will not overflow and cause any flooding across the roadway and into neighbouring properties.
The Result
Balonne Shire Council now have a design which they can execute to ensure the town is less impacted when substantial rain hits the town.

Additionally, when the project is complete, this will also reduce Council’s maintenance costs in this area and ensure funds are better spent elsewhere.
