Regional Projects

Duration

2022 - 2023
The Challenge
Heavy rain can cause substantial flooding across this area requiring constant flood damage restoration due to minimal gravel, with the cap rock getting more and more exposed after each event.

This disrupts residents, the mail run, and industry in the area whose livelihoods depend on being able to travel and transport livestock and emergency access. Although traffic volumes and serviceability requirements are low and there are alternative routes during these periods of closure, the alternate routes are substantially longer. The sealing would make these areas safer and more resilient to damage in the future, as well as reduce the long-term cost of repairing scour damage and exposed cap rock after rain events, hereby supporting the long-term recovery of the area and ensuring that the local rural road infrastructure is better able to withstand future flood events.
The Solution
Proterra Group needed to seal these sections that were damaged and bring restoration to the roads used most frequently.
